This Festive Drink – The Method
WHere is an easy interpretation of a drink featured on the seasonal cocktail list. It's a large-volume prepared mix that's bursting full of tastes of a holiday season, which makes it excellent for a celebration. Reserve the remaining citrus syrup for brunch beverages, puddings, or to mix another batch of bikinis.
Bikini
Serves 10 people
For the Clementine Syrup (yields 750ml)
300ml recently pressed clementine juice
200ml recently pressed lemon juice
500g granulated sugar
For the Cocktail (yields 850ml, serving 10)
400ml decent vodka
100ml classic gin
150ml peach-flavored liqueur
200ml citrus syrup (as made above)
Fresh cranberries, for garnish
Mandarin essential oil, for finishing
Method
To prepare the Cordial: Place every components in a saucepan, heat until it reaches a simmer, agitating to dissolve. Then, take off the stove and let it to cool down fully. Decant into an sealable bottle, close it and store in the refrigerator, it will last for about four weeks.
For the Batch Mix: Pour all the liquid ingredients into one big jug, let it rest for 60 minutes, then filter it preferably using cheesecloth, making it completely strained.
To serve: Measure 85ml of the premix to a stirring glass packed with ice, and agitate carefully for about 60 seconds until cold. Filter into an cold coupe glass or equivalent, top with a few cranberries and complete it by giving it a light spray of mandarin oil above the glass.
